The new unit is slightly thicker and features a slightly longer battery life. It also sports a built in GPS. This makes the unit more accurate at finding your exact location on a map. The phone also feature 3G Internet access. This feature greatly increases the browsing speed of the phone when not connected to a wifi hotspot. The trouble is that most areas, outside large metropolitan areas, don't have 3G service. In those areas, the phone will revert to using the 2G EDGE network which is much slower.
